The Entity is now in possession of the key that can unlock a submarine called the Sevastopol, which is carrying a dangerous virus. Ethan and his team must race against time to stop The Entity and prevent the virus from being released.

The film is said to be even more action-packed and suspenseful than its predecessor. Tom Cruise is said to perform even more death-defying stunts, including a motorcycle chase across the Great Wall of China. The film will also feature the return of several cast members from previous films, including Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, and Ving Rhames.
