Netflix Movie Da 5 Bloods Trailer

Da 5 Bloods Trailer Netflix Moviecliks

Fresh off an Oscar win for Best Adapted Screenplay for the outstanding BlacKkKlansman, filmmaker Spike Lee took his skills to Netflix to craft an unique film. That movie, known as Da five Bloods, is popping out this summer, and we have our first take a look at the movie courtesy of a debut trailer.

The ensemble picture is a Vietnam War movie that follows 4 African-American conflict veterans who return to Vietnam years later to find the remains in their fallen squad leaders—and the promise of buried treasure. The ensemble cast is Delroy Lindo, Clarke Peters, Norm Lewis, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Paul Walter Hauser, Jonathan Majors, and Jean Reno, with Chadwick Boseman playing their fallen friend.

Lee co-wrote the script with Danny Bilson, Paul De Meo, and Kevin Wilmott, the latter of whom co-wrote BlacKkKlansman, and this movie appears superb. Inherently political given the time period, the trailer laces in pictures of unrest in America and overseas for the duration of the Vietnam War, while the tale of the movie appears to be set towards cutting-edge. But I also love how the Vietnam War-set scenes are presented in 4:3 aspect ratio, that is in line with how we companion most pics from that senseless struggle as seen on tv. Lee is definitely a hit or miss kind of filmmaker, but as we saw with BlacKkKlansman, while he hits, he hits huge. Here’s hoping this one delivers similarly.

The film will be released on Netflix on June 12th.
